CC to CU Denver Admission Promise

One program, two degrees

The CC to CU Denver Admission Promise is the first matriculation program of its kind in metro Denver.  The Admission Promise is much more than a traditional transfer guarantee.  It is a partnership between the University of Colorado Denver and the Community Colleges to provide advising and ongoing contact to ensure your success in pursuing a four year degree.

Research shows that students who seek ongoing support and direction from advisors are more successful in completing their college degrees. The Admission Promise will provide you with just that – regular contact with a CU Denver advisor from the School/College you are pursuing your degree in.  Ensure you are on-track to earn your Bachelor’s Degree on time, right from the start.

As a member of this program, you will be automatically accepted to the University of Colorado Denver as a junior upon completion of an approved Associate’s Degree from a participating community college.  Your advisor will keep you on-track to earn your degree from one of five different schools and colleges at the university:

College of Liberal Arts & Sciences
Business School
College of Arts & Media
School of Public Affairs
School of Education & Human Development

Leadership for educational equity.

The School of Education & Human Development (EdHD) offers exciting advantages to students seeking to begin or advance a career in education or mental health. Pursue your teaching license, and be prepared to excel in America's urban classrooms.

Students seeking admission to the general or special education teacher licensure program must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75. This admission process happens between the end of the junior year and start of the senior year. No student, whether "native" or transfer or Joint Admission is guaranteed admission to the teacher licensure program in the senior year. Admission depends upon successful completion of an application and passing a state-mandated standardized test in basic skills.

An academic advisor within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will assist students in the Joint Admission program to select coursework required for completion of the teacher education licensure program. For more about earning your automatic transfer into CU Denver with junior status, please see the application process.
