Your home state could mean a scholarship.
We created a Denver Bound Scholarship exclusively for out-of-state students. Awards range from $8,000 to $64,000 over four years for freshmen and $4,000 to $32,000 over two years for transfer students with a demonstrated record of academic achievement.
Learn more about the scholarship and how easy it is to apply.
We'll pound the pavement to find you the perfect opportunity.
You're working hard enough hitting the books. Lean on us to help you find the kinds of real-world experiences that will pay off in your professional future.
The professional staff of our Career Center works year-round to develop relationships with employers and locate new opportunities for students. And we'll work just as hard to match you with one of those internships or service learning opportunities within your major.
Surround yourself with all that the city has to offer.
Our students think of the city of Denver as their campus. It's where they work, relax, and play. It's also where they live. Our campus is located in the heart of downtown Denver and has historically been a commuter campus. We are opening our new housing complex for students in the fall of 2006. All freshman under 21 not living with their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) will now be required to live at Campus Village at Auraria. Transfer students are also welcome to join the community at Campus Village at Auraria.
Going above the ordinary sometimes means crossing continents.
Studying abroad means sharpening your language skills, exploring other cultures, and learning more about yourself. Through CU Denver, you could have the opportunity to study classic architecture in Rome, business in China, political science in Tanzania, and more. And whether you're fluent in a second language or just learning to say hello and goodbye, you'll find programs and study areas that suit your abilities and interests.
Make your self at home on campus and in the city.
Call us for a personal tour of the many facilities that will be part of your university experiences. Sit in on a class and check out our labs. See for yourself how short the walk is to the Pepsi Center. Visit the center of campus activity—the historic Tivoli Student Union, which includes our bookstore, travel agency, game rooms, ticket outlet, credit union, the Starz FilmCenter, and cozy couches for studying. Stroll along the tree-lined walkways of the Auraria Campus—the name for the combined educational site we share with two other higher education institutions.

Prepare for your professional future.
Our Career Center can help you focus on career options, learn about top employers, explore internship opportunities, and launch your job search. Our experienced career counselors can assist you every step of the way—from deciding on a major to choosing among multiple job offers. Plus our online Employment Services program makes it easy for you to browse postings for positions, internships, and student employment openings.
Learn by listening—and questioning.
Our Distinguished Lecture Series regularly brings prestigious speakers to campus. Previous speakers have included David Horowitz, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, and Malcolm X's daughter Ilyasah Shabazz. The series gives you the chance to learn directly from some of the leading cultural critics, entertainment gurus, business barons, and political powerplayers.
Learning isn't limited to the classroom.
You'll be able to engage in research and creative work as part of your studies. Our Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program can even provide you with funding when you collaborate with a faculty member. It's a great way to explore a topic of interest in greater detail while testing your own abilities.
Plan for anything and everything.
Our campus is always buzzing because our students are high-energy—and they come and go during the day, into the evening, and through the weekends. We know you'll want to take advantage of everything that Denver and the Rocky Mountains have to offer, but a lot will still be expected of you in the classroom. Fortunately, we offer a number of convenient course options so you can tailor your schedule to your needs. Day, evening, and weekend classes are all available, and we also offer a number of online courses.
Learn the latest from the best.
Our faculty members bring extensive educational backgrounds and real-world experiences into the classroom. Four out of five full-time faculty hold doctoral degrees. Some have earned the world's most prestigious teaching awards, including Fulbright Scholarships and Guggenheim Fellowships. Many are actively engaged in their fields working as consultants, creating works of art, and studying contemporary social issues. Their fresh perspectives ensure that you'll be learning exactly what you need to make it in your chosen profession.
At the University of Colorado Denver, students consistently rank overall instruction as above average to excellent. Our student-faculty ratio averages 14-to-1, one of the best ratios of any public university in the West. Our classes are small enough for you to express your opinion while interacting personally with your instructors and classmates.
Get the support you need to succeed.
Maybe you know exactly what you want to do with your life, or maybe there are many careers that trigger your curiosity. Either way, we'll create opportunities to help you learn about lots of subjects and explore many possibilities. Our programs and support services will help you find your way—whichever path you choose.
We also offer a variety of other services.
• Student Advocacy Center: Can help you map out a course plan to lead you on your career path.
• Center for Learning Assistance: Provides study skills workshops and help for individual classes.
• Writing Center: Can help you strengthen your writing skills.
• Center for Educational Opportunity: Provides academic advising, scholarship information, and orientation information.
• Health Center: Offers low-cost, high-quality health care to students.
Thinking about more than one degree?
Even if you haven't finished your first day of college, it's never too early to start thinking long term. The University of Colorado Denver and the Anschutz Medical Campus is a great choice for pursuing a graduate degree in a variety of respected fields.

Make a plan - and plan for success
We go above and beyond to keep you on the path to success. You'll receive individualized advising to help you better understand the requirements of your courses and the many resources available to you on and off campus.
The Academic Success & Advising Center is the first stop for all undecided students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and College of Arts and Media, as well as those engaged in pre-engineering and pre-business studies.
Don't just learn about the real world—learn in it.
Because you'll be studying in the heart of a major metropolitan area, you'll have opportunities to dig deeper into many issues of contemporary life. Through your classes, you'll be challenged to seek solutions to local and global issues. You could work shoulder-to-shoulder with national and international businesses, student-teach in elementary schools, get involved with community groups, or evaluate the policies of government organizations.
