Glass in Class

Talbot, an assistant professor of science education in the School of Education and Human Development (SEHD), had always embraced the use of technology in the classroom, ever since he started using interactive whiteboards and computer simulations as a high school physics teacher in the late 1990s. Now he is participating in Google’s Glass Explorer Program to research whether or not it can make him a better teacher.

Enhancing Education Data Systems in Colorado

As new Colorado data systems have been put in place, it is now possible to link in-service teachers to their preparation programs. SEHD researcher Carolyn Haug says that this data will allow the state, universities and other teacher preparation providers an enhanced context to measure the quality of teachers’ performance, and their students’ growth, in relation to the specific education/training they originally received.
