Linguistically Diverse Education Endorsement Program

The need for qualified educators trained to work with English language learners continues to increase in Colorado. CU Denver's Linguistically Diverse Education endorsement program is designed for currently licensed teachers seeking career advancement and the knowledge and tools needed to work more effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse groups of students.

The endorsement program consists of eight courses (24 semester credits) and a portfolio, may generally be completed within two years, and is designed to fit around your professional teaching hours. Clinical experience required for the program can often be completed in your own school and classroom.

Those who complete the program and pass the PLACE Exam in Linguistically Diverse Education may apply to the Colorado Department of Education for the added endorsement.

Most of our students choose to complete additional credit hours to earn a master's in Curriculum and Instruction. Please investigate our master's in Elementary Linguistically Diverse Education (if you hold an elementary license) or Secondary Linguistically Diverse Education (if you hold a secondary license) to learn more.
