The Center for Health, Work & Environment is a center within the Colorado School of Public Health- an interdisciplinary, cross-institutional, cross-departmental academic home for public health education in Colorado from three great universities. The Colorado School of Public Health is an educational collaboration between the University of Colorado, Colorado State University, and the University of Northern Colorado.
The Center for Health, Work & Environment's main offices are located at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. Our team works with faculty, students, and community partners on numerous projects in worker health, safety, and wellness. Our faculty members, students, residents, and community partners do amazing work through community practice, education, and research.
Our NIOSH-funded Mountain and Plains Education and Research Center (MAP ERC) offers graduate and post-graduate training for students studying occupational and environmental health and safety fields, as well as continuing education through online courses and seminars for working professionals. The MAP ERC graduate training programs take place at Colorado State University in Fort Collins and at the University of Colorado's Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. Pilot project grants are another area of the MAP ERC, which are research grants for new innovations in the field. Please explore the MAP ERC training programs and pilot projects on our website for more information.
The Center for Health, Work & Environment also works with community organizations to improve health, safety, and well-being through Health LinksTM, one of the largest areas of the Center. Health Links is a non-profit initiative that helps businesses
support the health, safety, and well-being of their employees and organizations. They create sustainable wellness and safety programs through advising, certification, and connection to local wellness resources
that provide the tools and services for delivering health and wellness in the workplace. Please see the Health Links website for more information.
Along with Health Links and the Mountain and Plains ERC, the Center works in consulting, does research across many occupational and environmental health and safety areas, and develops partnerships with community organizations. Through the Center, we support our partners (faculty, students, residents, and community) who share our vision and mission for improved occupational and environmental health, safety, and well-being.
Our vision is to become a sustainable, national center of excellence in occupational and environmental health.
Our mission is to improve occupational and environmental health and safety through education, training, research, and public health practice.
