Center for Worker Health and Environment

About the Center

The Colorado School of Public Health is an educational collaboration between the University of Colorado, Colorado State University, and the University of Northern Colorado. Students may take classes and attend different sites for their learning and research experiences.

The Center for Worker Health and Environment is a center within the Colorado School of Public Health- an interdisciplinary, cross-campus, cross-institutional, cross-departmental academic home for supporting activities that people in the region want to do to improve workplace and environmental health. Main offices are located at the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. Our team works with faculty, students, and community partners on numerous projects in worker health, safety, and wellness.

Our faculty members, students, residents, and community partners already do amazing work that goes above and beyond the scope of our NIOSH-funded Mountain and Plains Education and Research Center (MAP ERC) and their various individual contracts and grants. Examples include our robust and growing continuing education program, our public-private partnerships to address the opioid prescription epidemic, and our community-based initiative to integrate worksite health promotion and health protection, to name a few. Through the Center we will be able to provide support for all of our partners (faculty, students, residents, and community) who share our vision and mission.

Our vision is to become a sustainable, national center of excellence in occupational and environmental health.

Our mission is to improve occupational and environmental health and safety through education, training, research, and public health practice.
