Native Elder Research Center (NERC)

The Division of American Indian and Alaska Native Programs, within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado Denver, has been awarded a 5-year Resource Center for Minority Aging Research (RCMAR) that focuses on Native elder health.

Grantwriting Uncovered: Maximizing Strategy, Help, Opportunities, Experiences (GUMSHOE) Program

GUMSHOE is one of four professional development-training programs committed to increasing the number of scholars from diverse backgrounds who are successful in becoming independent investigators and securing NIH grants.

Digital Storytelling Logo 

Digital Storytelling 

CAIANH staff have conducted several digital storytelling workshops.  Digital storytelling is a way for individuals to share meaningful stories from their lives. Spoken words form the basis; photographs and music are used to add emotional impact. These elements are combined to produce a short, personal multimedia work that can be shared electronically.

NCNHB 

Strategically Focused Research Network – Multidisciplinary Research Fellowship Program

The program trains promising new investigators in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease disparities, with interdisciplinary training that crosses the T0-T4 spectrum from basic science to community translation. While focusing on a selected area of this spectrum (e.g., basic science), trainees obtain hands-on or classroom experience with the other facets of translation in real-world clinical or community settings.
