SPECIFIC AIMS/RESEARCH GOALS:

To assess the prevalence and comorbidity of psychiatric diagnoses for a select sample of American Indian adolescents.

 

RESEARCH DESIGN:

109 American Indian adolescents were interviewed using a structured diagnostic interview to assess the prevalence of various psychiatric disorders.   In addition, self-report measures were completed by the students, their parents, and their teachers.

 

PARTICIPANTS:

109 American Indian adolescent students from a Northern Plains reservation community. The students ranged in age from 13-18 years, with 50.5% of the sample being male.

  4. Child Observation by Parents/Guardians (CAP)
