The Office of Professional Development and Extended Studies at the College of Nursing is an extended campus site offering a broad range of programs to meet the needs of current nursing students, new graduates, practicing nurses and advanced practice nurses, regionally and nationally. With over 30 years of experience in offering distance education, we offer many of our courses in a completely online format, and we are proud to now offer two online-only degrees.
Professional Development offers graduate-level nursing courses for academic credit through a variety of formats, including the Internet, intensive conferences and the traditional classroom. Students can work on a degree or improve their professional skills before they are formerly admitted by taking courses as nondegree students from the highly ranked, and CCNE accredited, programs of the CU College of Nursing. Or they can attempt a graduate-level certificate in as little as two semesters or at their own pace.
Our Continuing Education Program is a provider of continuing nursing education, approved by the Colorado Nurses Association, which is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditations. We offer didactic and hands-on programs targeted, but not limited, to nurses for contact-hour credit on a range of topics including motivational interviewing and limited obstetrical ultrasound workshops.
Each semester many CU Nursing courses are available to nondegree students in a variety of formats including the Internet, intensive conferences, and the traditional classroom. Learn more about taking classes without being admitted to a degree program.
