The Department of Pediatrics Section of Epidemiology manages infection prevention and microbial epidemiology at Children's Hospital Colorado.  Our mission is to employ analytical epidemiology techniques in both academic and clinical environments to improve health care within hospital and community populations.

HIGHLIGHTS & NEWS

  • Sarah Parker, MD, was selected as the first ever Children's Hospital Colorado “Provider of the Month” for January 2015 based on outstanding work in developing and implementing the antimicrobial stewardship program and care guidelines for musculoskeletal infections.
  • The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) presented its new Astute Clinician Award to Drs. Sam Dominguez and Kevin Messacar for their work in recognizing the association of flaccid paralysis and entervirus 68.
  • Ann Christine Nyquist, MD, MSPH, has been selected to serve on the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Infectious Diseases, which authors the Red Book.
