Affiliate - Department of Pediatrics

Denver Health, an Affiliate of the Department of Pediatrics, currently has 36 pediatric faculty members and 9 full-time clinical staff.

Denver Health is an integrated health care delivery system that provides care to one third of the children in Denver county. The Pavilion for Women and Children and the Denver Emergency Center for Children provide new, state-of-the-art inpatient and emergency facilities for children.

Most of our clinical services are provided at Denver Health and at primary care clinics located throughout Denver, Colorado.

  • Dr. Simon Hambdige has been named chief of ambulatory care services at Denver Health and CEO and chief medical officer of Denver Community Health Services.
  • Drs. Katie Snyder and Curtis Rashaan Ford were appointed to the Colorado Child Fatality Prevention System (CFPS), a multidisciplinary, multiagency team that makes prevention recommendations based on child fatality data in Colorado.
  • John Ogle, MD, received the Denver Health Medical Staff Career Service Award in September 2014.
  • Steven Federico, MD, was elected to the Academic Pediatric Association Research Nominating Committee. 
  • Simon Hambidge, MD, PhD, accepted the position of Chief of Ambulatory Care Services at Denver Health.
  • Paul Melinkovich, MD, President of the Colorado Medical Services Board, will receive the 2014 Job Lewis Smith Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics Council on Community Pediatrics.
  • Kristine Rodrigues, MD, received a Golden Stethoscope award from the CU School of Medicine.
  • Kathryn Wells, MD, FAAP, was given the Professional Award by the Kempe Foundation.
