The Department of Otolaryngology's mission is to provide outstanding, cutting-edge clinical care, research, and state-of-the-art training. The Department is affiliated with five hospitals; University of Colorado Hospital, Children's Hospital Colorado, the Veteran's Administration Medical Center, Denver Health & National Jewish. Our group of highly trained otolaryngology-head & neck surgeons offer a full range of adult and children's patient services.

The Anschutz Medical Campus is the nation’s newest health care campus fostering collaboration among students, researchers and clinicians. Campus architecture and state-of-the-art technology bridge education and research with two world-class hospitals: University of Colorado Hospital and Children’s Hospital Colorado.  The Anschutz Medical Campus includes over 5 million square feet of research, educational and clinical space on 227 acres, and is the largest academic health center between Chicago, Texas and the West Coast.

School of Medicine researchers have a proven record of success and expertise in innovation, discovery and commercialization of therapies, drugs and medical devices. With a reputation for delivering results, its 2,000 outstanding faculty members have already begun translating basic sciences into medical breakthroughs that are helping people around the world.  In 2013, nearly $400 million in research and training grants and contracts was awarded to Anschutz Medical Campus researchers.


Current Positions

T32 Training Opportunities: 

The UC Denver T32 Institutional Training in Otolaryngology Research grant has training slots for a pre-doctoral (medical or PhD candidates) and post-doctoral fellows for 2017-2019. Applications are due June 1, 2017. Research projects must be related to areas of Otolaryngology including hearing/balance, taste/small, communication/autism, or head and neck cancer. Each project should have a basic science research mentor and a clinical co-mentor selected from the training faculty of the Otolaryngology T32. The research mentor will supervise the research in a laboratory environment and the clinical mentor will provide a clinical experience (such as shadowing in a clinical setting or participation in a clinical research study) related to the selected project. Minority applicants are encouraged to apply, but all applicants must be US citizens or have a green card.

Pediatric Clinician/Scientist Otolaryngologist - Assistant or Associate Professor: 

The Department of Otolaryngology is seeking a full-time pediatric clinician scientist otolaryngologist faculty member for its pediatric practice at Children's Hospital Colorado. Responsibilities include: teaching, research and clinical service. Required education/qualifications: MD and PhD, BC/BE and Fellowship training in Pediatric Otolaryngology

Director of Audiology: 

The Department of Otolaryngology is seeking applicants for the position of Director of Audiology. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience. This senior leadership position will be responsible for clinical, educational, research and administrative oversight of the Audiology Department at the University of Colorado Hospital and its satellite facilities and the development of these programs within the Otolaryngology Department in the School of Medicine. This position will be responsible for expanding educational and research opportunities on-campus, community collaboration, and continuing improvements in the patient experience and clinical flow. Required education/qualifications: PhD in Audiology; three or more years of management experience; five or more years of clinical and research experience.
