| Will my hair be shaved when I have surgery? |
Most likely not. In most cases, CU Neurosurgery's doctors only shave a small area to allow them to make the incision. |
| How long will I be in the hospital after a craniotomy? |
Typically, 2-3 nights. The first night is spent in the NeuroICU and then patients usually move to a regular bed after that. Hospital stays can be longer depending on the patient's condition following surgery. |
| What instructions should I follow after a craniotomy? |

| What are the symptoms of a stroke? |
Sudden numbness or weakness in the face, arms or legs - expecially on one side of the body
Sudden confusion or trouble speaking or understanding speech
Sudden vision trouble in one or both eyes
Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
sudden severe headache with no known cause |
