What to do while you're here

Want to look like a local? Here are some resident-curated recommendations:

Aurora/Stapleton/Lowry:

Stanley Marketplace for the beer garden, Infinite Monkey Theorem (wine), Rosenberg's (breakfast) and other great food options

Thai Street Food – take-out only, and order before 3 or 4 pm or you’re out of luck…

Jubilee Coffee – warm, inviting, roasty

Lowry Beer Garden—Food and drink, great on one of our sunny fall days

Take a drive or a hike through the Rocky Mountain Arsenal for a great local view of the mountains and plains

Cap Hill:

Denver Biscuit Company/Atomic Cowboy—Beer, pizza, and biscuits

Vine Street Pub—Local brews, Boulder-y feel

St Mark’s Coffee—Open late

City O City and Watercourse Foods—Vegan

Downtown:

LoHi: Denver Beer Co

RiNo: Breckenridge Brewery, Ratio, Epic, Mockery, Woods Boss, 10 Barrel Brewery, Blue Moon brewery, and many more!

Finns Manor is a fun collection of outdoor food stands and an indoor bar with a great beer selection.

Larimer Square: Stores, restaurants, and downtown-y feel from 14th-16th st

Union Station: Terminal Bar for drinks. Milkbox Ice Creamery has boozy smoothies, ice creams. There’s an outlet of the famed Denver Tattered Cover Book Store. Stoic and Genuine is a great fish restaurant, and just outside is Zoe Ma Ma for Asian street food.

The new Whole Foods behind Union Station is, to quote Denise, “epic”--with poke bowl bars, macaroni bar, and a cheese shop area.

Highlands (aka date night):

Root Down--very nice, need reservation

Linger--delicious food, veggie friendly, great for brunch and dinner, and need reservation

Old Major--great atmosphere, beef heavy, easier reservation

Tennyson Street and 32nd Street- many local shops and restaurants, a great place to spend an afternoon or evening
