Clinical Programs

Creating Patient Centered Medical Homes for All


The Department of Family Medicine sponsors strong clinical programs that have multiple interfaces with the University of Colorado Hospital, University of Colorado specialty programs, and programs external to the University of Colorado School of Medicine. We provide care to adults, adolescents and children. We provide inpatient care at the University of Colorado Hospital, including delivery services and Cesarean sections.

Innovation is a key component in all of our clinical activities. Each of our practices are actively engaged in becoming patient-centered medical homes, and we are enrolled in the Improving Performance in Practice (IPIP) program.

Our faculty operates a new home visitation program for the elderly, and is creating a strong primary care presence within a community mental health center to bring primary care to the seriously mentally ill through the PriCARe program. We care deeply about providing our patients with whole-person care of the highest quality that is coordinated to meet their needs and wishes.
