TEE:

Intensive didactic and procedural introduction to intra-operative TEE during first month of Adult Cardiac rotation
Supported attendance to ASE/SCA Annual Review of Perioperative Echocardiography
Operating rooms networked, connected to Xcelera Echocardiography System
3-Dimensional TEE capability on all TEE probes
HeartWorks TEE simulator
Intensive faculty guided mini-review TEE course prior to graduation and sitting for Advanced PTEexam
All Cardiothoracic faculty hold advanced perioperative TEE certification

Application dates for the July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016 Fellowship Positions (2):

  1. Start accepting applications: January 1, 2014
  2. Must receive completed application package by: April 30, 2014
  3. Interviews: March to June, 2014
  4. Decision: The program participates in the CT Fellowship SF Match


Call schedule: 2 calls/week and 1 weekened/month, only during University OR rotations.
Academic Experience:
One academic day/week
At least 1 month for research (this can be negotiable depending on the project)
Time and support/stipend for one National Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology meeting
Expected attendance and presentation of academic project at annual Society of Cardiothoracic Anesthesia meeting (supported).

Miscellaneous:
Dedicated office with computer and internet access
Reimbursement of successful TEE exam
Possibility of moonlighting opportunities at outside institution (general anesthesia)
