Cancer Research Experience for Undergraduates (CREU) (formerly CRSF)

The fellowship is from May 26 - July 31.

Through the University of Colorado Cancer Center's Cancer Research Experience for Undergraduates (CREU), every summer 30 college undergraduate students are given the opportunity to spend ten weeks in our laboratories at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

The goal of the program is to engage scientific curiosity in the next generation of scientists, challenging qualified college undergraduates to consider a cancer-related career in the future.

Students interested in working full-time for ten weeks during the summer are encouraged to apply to the University of Colorado Cancer Center Cancer Research Summer Fellowship.

Accepted fellows are required to attend orientation, develop goals & objectives, participate in bi-weekly lectures, a field trip, and a poster session during the course of their ten week fellowship.

Projects & Preceptors 

Projects & Preceptors

When you apply to be a fellow, you select three faculty members and projects you would like to work on during your fellowship. These projects range from identifying breast cancer subtypes to conducting correlative biological assays for some of our Phase I clinical trials.

Poster Sessions 

Poster Sessions

At the end of the Cancer Research Summer Fellowship students are required to create a poster and present their summer research findings on the projects they worked on.
