The University of Colorado Cancer Center's Cancer Research Summer Fellowship Program has certain requirements. If you are selected to be a fellow, you must sign a Student Agreement committing to these requirements:
Orientation will be held on Tuesday, May 31st at 9:00 a.m. in RC2 Room 3109. This one-hour meeting is mandatory for all fellows. We will cover program requirements, training requirements, stipends and more. Time will be set aside with the badge and parking offices to make arrangements for students who will work on the Anschutz Medical Campus.
Goals and Objectives
With the help of your preceptor, you will write a two to three-page, double-spaced report describing the goals of your research project. The report is due within 10 days of your start date. Your preceptor will also sign the report. When we receive it, you will receive 50 percent of your total stipend.
All fellows will be expected to participate in the poster session on August 4th. If you are unable to attend the poster session, please contact Jill as soon as you know you have a conflict. After you participate in the poster session and exit survey, you will qualify to receive the remaining 50 percent of your total stipend.
If you are unable to attend the poster session, you will be required to write a double-spaced report of at least five pages that describes your project's results, due at the end of your fellowship. Your preceptor will also sign your report. When we receive it along with the completion of your exit survey, you will receive the remaining 50 percent of your total stipend.
You will also be required to complete online training prior to your arrival for hazardous waste management, laboratory safety, and HIPAA. Your preceptor might also require you to take the Blood Borne Pathogens class.
