Sociology

The mission of the Sociology Department at the University of Colorado Denver is:

to offer a multifaceted learning experience to students that provides an understanding of how individuals and institutions interact to shape our social world
to conduct empirical and theoretical research in order to advance and expand knowledge in the field of sociology
to participate actively in programs of interdisciplinary research and education
to bring sociological theory and research to bear on social problems in the communities where our faculty, staff and students live and work

Sociologists study group life, qualifying them for hundreds of jobs in the corporate, nonprofit and government worlds.
