The Minor in Ethnic Studies offers students the opportunity to enhance and broaden the body of knowledge acquired in their chosen majors, and to apply it in a variety of careers involving intercultural relations. A student who wishes to minor in Ethnic Studies is required to complete 18 semester hours in Ethnic Studies courses with a grade of C or better.

 

Minor

The Ethnic Studies minor is designed to help students majoring in the liberal arts and sciences develop a sophisticated and broad understanding of ethnicity and its role in contemporary American society. It provides students with the theories and concepts needed to comprehend and interpret relations between and among ethnic groups in the U.S.

 

Certificates

The undergraduate certificate in cultural diversity studies is designed to appeal to undergraduate students with a background in any major. It will allow students to demonstrate to potential employers that they possess the multicultural skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the workplace. 

Individually Structured Major 

Individually Structured Major

Although the university does not offer a bachelor's degree in ethnic studies, the Individually Structured Major (ISM) affords students an opportunity to pursue the field in depth.

Workshops & Seminars

These Continuing Education workshops and seminars are tailored to non-degree seeking professionals who seek to acquire multicultural knowledge and the skills necessary to ensure their success in professional environments. Students will be encouraged to think critically about race and race relations.
