Business has become international. The rapidly changing and global world demands experienced understanding of different cultures and the world. By adding a study abroad component to your degree you get an expanded perspective which will aid you in your career. The Business School's study abroad courses are offered during Maymester or Winterium. This allows you to add an international component to your education without extending the length of your schooling.​

Entrepreneurship in Barcelona

Join us in Barcelona to learn about international entrepreneurship in one of the most beautiful and vibrant cities in Europe. Learn about Barcelona’s startup ecosystem from local entrepreneurs. Visit the Media-TIC building, an information and communication technology hub designed to incubate, generate, exhibit and invite new ideas and developments in information and communication technologies. Attend a Startup Grinder, a global startup community event designed to educate, inspire and connect entrepreneurs. Visit Connector, an accelerator in the heart of Barcelona’s L’Eixample district and learn what businesses face in the beginning stages.

Outside of your entrepreneurship experiences, tour the Dali Museum, the Sagrada Familia Cathedral, and Monserrat and dip your toes in the Mediterranean.

China: A Window on China

Study the historical, political, and economic perspectives on doing business in China today. This intensive field study in Beijing, Shanghai, and Nanjing will provide you with a rich introduction to Chinese history and an overview of modern China's economics, business, political and cultural environment. Learn through a combination of lectures by CU Denver faculty, guest lectures, field trips, and seminars with experts on each day's topics. Visit US-China joint venture operations as well as other foreign-invested companies for chances to interview their managers.

Gain high-level access to exciting global organizations in the sports and entertainment industry. Through visiting and talking with the industry elite outside of the U.S., you'll gain a broader perspective on the industry. Read pertinent articles before visits, keep a journal, and write a reflection paper at the end of the experience. Tentative site visits include: Chelsea Football Club, All England Lawn Tennis Club/Wimbledon, NFL UK, Twickenham / Rugby Football Union, Lord's Cricket Ground, The O2 Arena, Film & Theatre Production, The BBC, and the UK Department for Culture, Media and Sport.

London: Risk Management and Insurance

This is a unique international course of intensive study for undergraduate and graduate business and risk management students; a distinctive immersion in the field of Global Risk Management and Insurance. Study how risk is transferred globally. In the first two weeks of class in Denver, there will be a series of class lectures, presentations and discussions. Then, you will travel to London, which is the home to many of the world's largest insurers and reinsurers. Follow the insurance transaction from main street U.S.A. through the standard markets, surplus lines markets, and reinsurance markets.
