The Center for Entrepreneurship serves as a new idea laboratory that educates and empowers graduates to act entrepreneurially. We foster an open and diverse environment that emphasizes multidisciplinary experiential learning, facilitated by a highly engaged faculty.
The Center offers 18 AACSB International accredited graduate-level courses, providing degree and non-degree students multiple options in Entrepreneurship Studies.
Advisory Council members are
involved in the life of the Jake Jabs Center by serving as class speakers,
reviewers of business plans, volunteers on committees, mentors to students,
advisers to incubator companies, and other activities.
The Center's entrepreneurship speaker events incorporate instruction, mentoring, and support from outstanding business leaders with entrepreneurial expertise. The events include varying topics throughout the year, and are open to students and the general public.
The VC Fund allows for students to
learn the nuances of venture capitalism, and invest in real innovative
businesses. The Student Consulting is a strategy and management
consulting firm operated exclusively by graduate business students.
The competition encourages the creating of new businesses, and is designed for early stage companies. It recognizes the most outstanding plans with more than $50,000 in cash and in-kind awards.
The Center fosters and promotes new business opportunities, advancing the teaching, study and practice of entrepreneurship and new venture creation. Entrepreneurship gives students the ability to marshal resources to seize new business opportunities which have uncertain outcomes.
