Outcomes assessment means that all academic programs are expected to have effective processes in place in which they have identified learning outcomes, assessed student learning for these outcomes through a variety of measures, and used the results to guide their program improvement process. The purpose of the University's outcomes assessment effort is to cultivate a culture of continuous improvement around program assessment to advance student learning, teaching effectiveness, and program quality.
As a requirement of accreditation, each academic program is expected to submit a brief annual assessment report at the end of spring semester to the Denver or Anschutz Assessment Committees describing its assessment results and program modifications.
