Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center

​The Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center for Advancing Cognitive Technologies (RERC-ACT) is the nation’s first center to conduct research and development of assistive technologies for people with cognitive disabilities.

The RERC-ACT includ​es research and development projects, training activities, and the dissemination of informational materials. Twelve universities and private companies throughout the United States are involved in projects that will improve the lives of people with cognitive disabilities such as traumatic brain injuries, intellectual disabilities, and dementia.

Funding is provid​ed by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) Grant #H133E090003, within the Administration for Community Living (ACL) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
