For the past six years, folks from CU Denver | Anschutz have been volunteering their time and talent through the CU in the Community program. It’s a great way to spend time with your colleagues outside of the office while honoring the spirit of the holiday season.
All faculty and staff at both the CU Denver and CU Anschutz Medical Campus will be given one half-day of work time (four hours) to go into the community and participate in a volunteer activity of their choice. Individuals can volunteer at an organization that they have a personal interest with or can choose from the featured partners list. Faculty and staff can choose to participate individually or with a group/department. Students and alumni are also welcome to participate with faculty and staff or individually.
In previous years, CU people have volunteered with the Ronald McDonald House, Food Bank of the Rockies, Habitat for Humanity, and Goodwill. You are welcome to volunteer an organization that resonates with your priorities. For additional volunteer opportunity ideas please see the “Community Partnership Opportunities” tab.
We highly encourage departments to volunteer in a group activity. It can be a fun way to bring your colleagues together outside the normal work setting—and have a great time—while contributing to our mission of improving the health and well-being of people in Colorado.
