The Systems Development group provides design and development services to allow customer access to data from core computer systems operated at University Information Systems (UIS) in boulder, as well as University – specific computer systems.
The mission of the Systems Development group is to deliver critical information in electronic form to those responsible for management and administration of the university. Systems Development is committed to development software solutions (e.g., systems and applications) that improve central administration’s ability to access and manipulate management information contained in its many computer databases.
The primary goal of Systems Development is to improve collection and dissemination of campus-oriented management information through the use of advanced computing technologies. This goal is being met through implementation of corporate databases, state-of-the-art software and hardware. We accomplish the goal by assisting / consulting with administration departments to focus their information system strategies to take advantage of new computing environments.
The scope of services offered by Systems Development addresses the following service areas:
- Develop and manage a corporate database
- System design and development
- Serving as liaison to UIS
- Offering transactional system support
- Performing computer operation functions
- Assist with information systems acquisitions
Using accepted standards and state-of-the-art technologies, computing resources re dedicated to provide services of the corporate database. End-user workstations are able to process, display data obtained from the database engine through use of specialized query and reporting software.
Systems Development supports the Help Desk and Telecommunications operations support systems and coordinated ITS Finance billing statements that are provided to our customers on a monthly basis.
