The university has a number of academic programs that incorporate sustainability as part of the curriculum. These programs are varied, comprehensive and incorporate the principles of environment, economics and equity into their framework.
IGERT Program in Sustainable Urban Infrastructure
is funded through a $3.2M IGERT award from the National Science Foundation, and offers an innovative inter-disciplinary graduate program on sustainable urban infrastructure. The program focuses on sustainable water, energy, transport, sanitation and built environment infrastructures in cities worldwide. This work builds upon a GAANN grant from the US Department of Education.
The College of Architecture and Planning
has a vision of Integrative Design that engages students in the design and planning challenges of 21st century. The College’s Communities of Interest include:

College of Business, Masters in Business Administration Sustainability Track
The Business School offers sustainability curriculum in a number of courses designed for executive management, including Managing for Sustainability, Business and the Natural Environment and Innovation in the Social Sector.
College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Sustainability Minor
The CU Denver College of Liberal Arts & Sciences has funded the development of new educational opportunities in this critically important area. At the present time, an interdisciplinary advisory group is working to define and enhance future offerings that will help students develop a comprehensive base of knowledge and marketable skill sets.
